Triple Crown Button Down Long Sleeve | Golden Waves

First impression: My husband LOVES this shirt. He' worn it around town for a couple weeks and it's been great in the hot Florida sun. He is looking forward to taking it with us when we hike the Camino in Spain in September!

To start off, I agree with most reviews that this is a fantastic lightweight, quick drying, and well made shirt. Two things make me give only 4 starts.First, the shirt is definitely not mosquito resistant. The little buggers might needa few tries, but will eventually find a spot where they can bite through the fabric. The key is that you need to be moving and have a shirt size that is a loose enough fit, that the fabric is not lying taunt on your skin. Only the reinforced shoulder area is truly mechanically mosquito resiatant. Secondly, the thumb holes are in my mind places too high up the sleeve, so that putting my thumbs through, the arms are overstrechted. This is uncomfortable and makes it easier for mosquitos to bite through, because the sleeves are now lying taunt against your arms. Also, the thumb holes are gaping holes where mosquitos will fly in and feast on your wrists. This is extremely annoying. If you walk through rough undergrowth expect the fabric to snag and tear easily. This shirt is not made for bushwhacking. I ended up sewing the thumb holes shut. The hood could also be a bit larger.

My husband loves it - the shirt is very lightweight and comfortable. He wore it walking on the beach for sun protection and plans to wear it in the jungle and on hikes in Colorado for mosquito protection.

I want to write a review after wearing it longer than a day, but I wanted to share my initial thoughts..

I absolutely love the shirt. It is everything I could want and/or need in an expedition/hiking shirt. I plan on wearing it just about everywhere and anywhere due to how comfortable and versatile it truly is. The material is cool on my skin and the design is so rad. Something that excites me the most is the bun slot in the hood. I dont doubt this top is gonna be my last Jolly Gear purchase. Be back soon with a later update :)
